SAVIR is a multidisciplinary organization involved in promoting and advancing the field of injury and violence prevention research. SAVIR achieves its goals by hosting and promoting collective, educational and scholarly activities and through cross-collaborative efforts with practitioners, policymakers and other stakeholders. Our members represent all levels of the public health sector and medical fields.

SAVIR offers its members unique participation opportunities, regardless of your area of expertise or level of experience. As a member of SAVIR you have the opportunity to:
  • Actively promote your research by participating in educational opportunities;
  • Enhance your experience and expertise through initiatives such as our Mentor Program;
  • Influence policy by participating in ongoing collaborative efforts.
SAVIR depends on its members to foster the growth of injury and violence research. The young field of injury and violence prevention continues to grow; responding to the prevention needs and the acute and long-term burden of a staggering array of events. As it grows, so do the needs for solid research and quality researchers who utilize a range of rigorous scientific methods and disciplines to identify risk factors and trends, inform public policy, and guide and evaluate effective interventions. By joining SAVIR, you can add your voice to those of other dedicated injury and violence researchers. This voice is critical during these hard times in showing the need to continue and expand the field of injury research.
